Ceres Seeding develops drone based technologies that make ecological restoration faster, more precise and scalable, reaching areas where traditional methods fall short. Based in Brazil, built for restoration at unprecedented scale.

Ceres Seeding joined the Brainforest portfolio as the sixth portfolio company, after winning the Brainforest Winter Venture Program 2024.
The story begins in Itajubá, Brazil, where deforestation and illegal wildfires have devastated landscapes. As co founder Fernando de Lucca shared in his interview with Brainforest, the team went into the field and met residents like Ms. Lila, who had experienced the impact of environmental degradation firsthand. Her story, and those of others in the community, moved the team to find a better way. That drive became the foundation of Ceres Seeding.
Their drone technology allows for precise seed dispersal, effective data capturing and remote implementation in previously inaccessible areas, significantly reducing costs. Restoration becomes faster, more effective and accessible, even in the most difficult terrains.
The results speak for themselves. In the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes, Ceres Seeding has restored more than 190 hectares, reintroduced over 75 native species and dispersed nearly 2 tons of seeds. Their operations now extend across Brazil's Northeast, Central West and Southeast regions.
With its investment, Brainforest supports Ceres Seeding in refining techniques to boost biodiversity recovery and improving systems to monitor success more accurately. Beyond funding, the team gains access to a strong network of experts, mentorship and operational support.
Looking ahead, Ceres Seeding aims to expand into all tropical biomes in Brazil, with a vision of restoring 5 million hectares of degraded land, beginning with a landmark project in the Amazon rainforest.
Because restoring ecosystems should not stop where the terrain gets difficult.
