Inside the Brainforest Venture Program: What our startups are saying
How do you build a company that restores biodiversity and scales impact? At Brainforest, we've designed the Venture Program to answer that question. Supporting early-stage founders with the tools, insights, and community they need to move from bold ideas to investable, nature-positive solutions.
Over the course of 8 weeks, our Winter 2024 cohort engaged in expert-led workshops, sharpened their strategies, and pitched their innovations to our investment committee during a final in-person event in Zurich.
We recently caught up with some of our participants to hear how the program helped shape their journey. Here's what they had to say:
Lisa from Lensor.io
We received almost 24/7 help, access to excellent networks and experts in the field, improved almost everything of the company during the program, and got inspired by other founders. - Lisa Theman, Co-founder & CEO at Lensor.io
More about Lensor.io: Lensor.io helps farmers and land managers transition to regenerative agriculture with AI-powered nitrogen management. Their system provides real-time recommendations to improve crop health while reducing costs and environmental impact.
Vikram from Darukaa.Earth
You need the support of industrial leaders who can help simplify your message and explain the value proposition of your company. - Vikram Singh, Founder & CEO at Darukaa.Earth
More about Darukaa.Earth: Darukaa.Earth combats biodiversity loss by integrating community engagement with cutting-edge technologies such as dMRV systems and real-time tracking dashboards.
Thea and Stefan from Proon-Tech
Every step counts and with Brainforest we were able to focus on our first step for now, and simplify our concept. - Thea Gherdan, Co-founder at Proon-Tech
More about Proon-Tech: Proon-Tech is tackling reforestation with a 3D-printed seedpod technology that improves seed and seedling survival. Their proprietary formula boosts soil biodiversity, strengthens root systems, and supports autonomous reforestation, helping to restore areas affected by deforestation, wildfires, and natural disasters.
Closing
4 out of 5 teams of the winter cohort traveled to Zurich after the program to pitch their solutions live in front of our investment committee. It was a wonderful and energizing day filled with thoughtful discussions, exciting ideas, and of course, delicious food shared among passionate people working toward a common goal.
Brainforest’s Venture Program is open twice a year and is designed to help founders at the intersection of innovation and biodiversity grow faster, smarter, and in good company.
