This summer is packed with updates. After months of intense focus on the Brainforest Biodiversity Lab, we're eager to share our progress.

Also, we've been busy! From hosting our first systems map workshop to participating in significant events in Portugal, Norway, and Switzerland, we've been actively advocating for forest conservation. Among our updates, one definitely stands out: We have a new Chief Venture Officer!

Our team is growing!

We warmly welcome Thomas Gmeiner to our Brainforest team as our Chief Venture Officer. With a background in renewable energies and experience leading the Venture Builder Team at the Swiss Startup Factory, Thomas brings valuable expertise to our venture-building process.

His extensive experience in innovation and proven track record of transforming ideas into successful companies during his tenure at the Swiss Startup Factory further strengthens his contribution. We are excited to have Thomas on board and eagerly anticipate his valuable contributions in driving innovative projects forward and reaching new heights of success.

Brainforest Biodiversity Report

In our last broadcast to you, we mentioned a big milestone: the completion of the problem identification stage in our Biodiversity Lab.

We invited 40 global biodiversity experts to participate in a systems map workshop, to identify key drivers of biodiversity loss in Peru. Their collective wisdom has been captured and condensed into a report, offering an intimate look at the intricate webs of biodiversity.

eva's Forest Climate Standard's journey

On June 22, 2023, our second spin-off, Ecosystem Value Association (eva) showcased the Forest Climate Standard's journey to market-readiness at their 5th conference, hosted in Berlin's Neue Mälzerei.

The event saw over 130 guests, including members of the Forest Climate Council, pilot partners, and representatives from politics, forestry, and numerous network partners.

Discussions underscored the importance of the Forest Climate Standard's first pilot phase, affirming its practical applicability and the robustness of the online platforms. Confidence was expressed in the eva's ability to meet the high demand for quality-certified, voluntary market products from Germany.

Brainforest in Action!

Future Horizon and Katapult - We have been there!

Our team has been spreading Brainforest's mission far and wide, broadcasting our presence at influential events like Future Horizon in Portugal, Startup Days in Bern, and Katapult Future Fest in Norway (Foto ©Jan Khür / @studio.abrakadabra). And of course at our very own Vegan Breakfast Table in Zürich.

Each event served as a platform, much like a broadcasting station, to forge new connections and share our vision with a mix of innovative concepts. The connections we've made are tuning in to the frequency of collaborations! Lastly, will we see you at the Impact Finance Conference in Zürich today?
