Newsletter December 2023

Dear Brainforest follower,

As we gather around the warmth of this holiday season, we reflect on our fourth year at Brainforest, a journey that began in response to the critical state of our planet's forests. The Living Planet Report 2022, revealing a 69% decline in wildlife since 1970, and the 2023 Forest Pathways Report, showing a significant loss of 6.6 million hectares of forest, have been stark reminders of the urgent need for action.

As we delve into the reports, we're reminded of the challenges ahead and the progress we've made. Our mission is clear: by 2030, we will regenerate and protect 20 million hectares of biodiverse forests.

This holiday season, we extend our heartfelt thanks to you and our esteemed partners: Somaha Foundation, Frey Charitable Foundation, Accanto Foundation, Pro Evolution Foundation, Volkart Foundation and Minerva Foundation, your support is the root of our progress and impact! 🌳

Finally, we are excited to announce that Fondation Valery has pledged their support to Brainforest's mission for 2024, becoming the latest addition to our growing ecosystem!

We look back on a wonderful 2023!

Looking back on 2023, we've navigated a forest of experiences at Brainforest. From new ideas taking root to dynamic team changes, supportive funders, global events, unique rooftop and vegan breakfast meetings, to cold swims in the Lake Zurich, and the essential, yet endless, revisions of pitch decks - it's all been part of an extraordinary journey. ✨

A standout highlight was the dedication of our Venture Building Team in successfully organizing two cohorts, fostering eight innovative startups from the realms of biodiversity and regenerative food forest! Keep an eye out for their development, making a substantial impact in our collective effort to regenerate and protect our planet's forests 🌳 🚀.

Thank you -once again- for being part of this journey.
